At American Academy School, we follow the American Common Core Curriculum Standards to contextualize the students’ learning by using the environment around them and where appropriate, allowing them ownership over their own learning, which is critical to their success. We also focus heavily on learning behaviors such as collaboration, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and leadership in the process of learning. At AAS, every student is encouraged and guided by talented, caring and committed staff. We focus on instilling qualities in our students that echoed of good conduct and morality. We aim to create a system when the students are successful in their relationships with other people. We focus on instilling values by which they could treat another person with respect and know how to earn respect from other people. We want our students to take responsibility for their actions. Through our principles and guidance process, they learn to fix any mistakes they make, and they will be capable of feeling a sense of accomplishment when they finish a task. As we dedicate our efforts to ensure students are accomplishing their academic achievements, we did not neglect the importance of ensuring that our students are acquiring the necessary skills that enable them to be effective citizens for their community.
At AAS, we are keen to provide the students with knowledge and information required for guiding their behavior, developing their personality as good citizens and promotes Islamic and Arab values and culture. We aim at enhancing national identity and values for students in our school according to the aspirations of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to instill citizenship values and principles. For this purpose, teachers ensure implementing standards and values that have been designed to include Qatari values, which constitute an important element of the education reform of the state of Qatar which identifies learning objectives, knowledge that need to be acquired by students at each grade level. In addition, teachers ensure that students are provided with a first-rate education comparable to that offered in the world to prepare learners to complete their higher education in leading institutions and compete in local and global labor market. AAS teachers are following The State of Qatar in its National Vision 2030 which aims at building a world-class education system aligned with best international standards in which it allows citizens to develop their skills and potentials through providing professional development opportunities that prepares them for success.
AAS educators are student-centered and have been challenged to engage students and provide optimal learning environments. As the school principal, I challenge each and every student to take full advantage of all that is offered here at AAS in order to foster a successful, enjoyable, and meaningful school environment.
I truly believe that every student at AAS has the ability and the potential to accomplish great outcomes and future successes. We have established many policies and procedures in place that guide our stakeholders to acquire a good understanding of the expectations we have set for our student. In fact, our teachers, counselors, and administrators are always available to aid. Your questions and concerns are always welcome.
I am sure that together, we will continue to move forward and find new ways to achieve academic greatness, further instill the Qatari culture and traditions, and create lasting school memories
