AAS Main Goals and Objectives

Goal 1 .
To set and meet high expectations for academic achievement for all students to prepare them to be productive and effective citizens to their community.
Objective 1.1
AAS students will demonstrate mastery in reading, writing and mathematics.
Objective 1.2
AAS students will have access to and will complete a rigorous curriculum in areas of study, including language arts, mathematics, sciences, social studies, ICT, Physical Education, Foreign Language, and Art.
Objective 1.3
AAS will develop and adopt an AP Curriculum that will be reviewed and updated every three to five years by a Curriculum Committee.
Objective 1.4
Starting from the academic year 2021-2022, all Grade 9 AAS Students will sit for PRE-SAT, all Grade 11 AAS will sit for SATI, and High achievers in Grade 12 will sit for a minimum of 2 AP Exams.
Goal 2
To create the optimal environment for learning by meeting the fundamental needs of all learners.
Objective 2.1
Increase the availability of high-quality preschool education (KG) to all eligible AAS. students.
Objective 2.2
All AAS stakeholders will recognize and value diversity.
Objective 2.3
AAS introduce and implement blended learning for all grades.
Objective 2.4
AAS students will attend school in a safe, orderly, and disciplined environment.
Objective 2.5
All AAS will be served by a unified system of regular, special, and compensatory programs.
Goal 3
To set and meet high standards for staff performance leading to and evidenced by improved student learning.
Objective 3.1
The professional preparation and certification of AAS educators will reflect clear and widely accepted definition of the knowledge and competencies needed by teachers and administrators to ensure that students will achieve at high levels.
Objective 3.2
All AAS Teaching Staff will have access to professional development programs for differentiated learning and teaching approaches.
Objective 3.3
All AAS Teaching Staff will have access to professional development programs for the effective use of technology within their daily instructional practices.
Objective 3.4
There will be ongoing and systematic assessment and improvement of teacher and administrator evaluation and professional development practices which relate to AAS’s educational goals for students.
Objective 3.5
All AAS educators will have access to substantive, appropriate professional development activities that promote the continuous improvement and modification of instruction leading to the success of all students.
Goal 4
To focus resources effectively, efficiently, and equitably to promote students’ achievement.
Objective 4.1
AAS students and teachers will have access to a technology rich environment; and teachers, administrators and ancillary staff members will be trained to use technology to improve instruction and student learning.
Objective 4.2
AAS will make more productive use of existing resources and facilities and promote the school as centres of community activities.
Objective 4.3
To focus on low and high achievers through various programs.
Objective 4.4
All AAS educators will have access to substantive, appropriate professional development activities that promote the continuous improvement and modification of instruction leading to the success of all students.
Goal 5
To increase Parental and Community Involvement.
Objective 5.1
Parents and family members must be active participants in each child’s academic process and may demonstrate this by communicating with teachers, counsellors, and administrators.
Objective 5.2
AAS will work collaboratively with education professionals, other agencies, and parents to offer a variety of programs to increase parental knowledge of their children’s education process, and progress.
Objective 5.3
In order to strengthen the home/school/business/community partnership, AAS will develop strategies for involving these partners in a mutually beneficial and productive manner.
Objective 5.4
To involve parents in more school activities and make sure parents are aware of student progress.
Goal 6
Expose all students to the world of Technology.
Objective 6.1
Provide a meaningful technology curriculum for all students in Kindergarten through Grade 12.
Objective 6.2
To use technology as instructional tools within the various disciplines to increase student motivation and to improve student achievement.
Objective 6.3
To provide equal funding and appropriate access so that all students will have the opportunity to interact with and learn from current technology.
Objective 6.4
All AAS will be served by a unified system of regular, special, and compensatory programs.
